Today, Gateco Oil Company transports heating oil, diesel fuel, kerosene, and gasoline products to businesses within a 100 mile radius of Greensboro.

Carolina Fuels not only serves residential customers, they are also a strong supplier of fuel products to the farming community. Berico partnered with Alamance Oil Company of Burlington, NC, in 1990, providing both commercial and residential clients with home heating oil, propane, and diesel fuel. All it takes is a look at a customer testimonial to illustrate why Berico is still going strong.

Here is what Nancy McCoy, a verified customer, has to say about Berico: “I first used Berico in August of 2009 and am now entering my sixth year. I have always believed that it is better to prevent a problem than to solve one, and your technicians have done a “bang up” job of keeping my unit in excellent working order. They have caught a couple of components going bad and replaced them quickly. Therefore, I have never had to call you and tell you that I have problems with my heat or air. Your technicians are most skilled at their jobs and don’t mind me asking questions.”

Berico announces predictions of lower oil prices in the upcoming months

GREENSBORO, NC October 22, 2013 – Despite the uncertainty floating around the energy crisis, the oil market is doing surprisingly well. According to The U.S. Energy Information Administration, oil prices are expected to follow a downward pattern well into 2014. In fact, sources believe that prices will fall by at least $20 per barrel this coming winter. When looking at the price, the EIA looks into projected winter temperatures and demand. The information they’ve found shows that winter temperatures are to be steady with last year’s (2012) temperatures. They’ve also found that the demand for oil should remain the same, if not lower. This is great news for homeowners who rely on oil during the harsh winter months.

Although oil prices were stable for many years, from 1986 to 2001, prices began to rise as soon as the recession hit. A barrel of oil went from an affordable $20 per barrel to an astounding $134 per barrel in just a few short years. Fortunately, the last two years provided a stable price hovering around $80 per barrel. However, thanks to U.S. drilling, the price for oil is expected to be the lowest it’s been in years.

Today, the U.S. has a moderate amount of drilling activity. The job boom that has lasted for several years in North Dakota is just a small light at the end of the tunnel. The oil drilling boom in the U.S. isn’t just good for the economy, it’s also good for homeowners. Although mild drilling is expected into the future, the oil production will remain quite strong here on U.S. soil.

Over the next few months – and even into the coming years – experts predict that oil prices will continue to fall down. In fact, oil prices should realistically fall below $80 per barrel in the coming months. According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, this predicted change will happen gradually and continue downwards for years to come.

Greensboro Air Conditioning is a Cool Idea for the Summer

Greensboro Air Conditioning is a Cool Idea for the Summer

achistory

The long, hot days of summer are right around the corner. Cookouts with friends, play dates at the pool, and visits to the coast are within our reach. And with the summer days comes another convenience we can look forward to, the ability to stay cool inside of our homes. Thanks to our Greensboro air conditioning systems, we can enjoy fresh and cool air throughout the entire summer. This was not always the case, and at Carolina Fuels, we would like to take you on a trip to learn how air conditioning has helped our country become a better place. After all, with today’s modern appliances and homes, it is easy to forget just how important air conditioning is to our comfort in the heat of the summer. Just as laptops and cell phones are imperative in our society today, so is the use of air conditioners to cool homes and office buildings.

Air Conditioning Will Work More Efficiently with Annual Maintenance

Keeping your Greensboro or Eden air conditioner in top shape is essential so you can avoid costly repairs during the hottest days of the summer. At Carolina Fuels, we provide annual maintenance that includes cleaning your air conditioner, providing a complete inspection and tightening connections to ensure that it will work efficiently and provide maximum cool air to circulate in your home or business. Let’s explore some of the neat historical facts about air conditioning, as mentioned in the www.brightsidenewspapernews.com site:

“Movie theaters were among the first places most people encountered artificially cooled air. In fact, theaters would advertise their “Refrigerated Air”. Moviemakers released their big pictures during the summer because people sought out the air-conditioned buildings to escape the heat.”

Refreshingly Cool Air in Movie Theaters and in your Home

If you find that you visit movie theaters more often during the summer months, you are not alone. It’s refreshing to sit in a highly air conditioned theater to cool off from the heat and enjoy a great film. That is why a lot of the summer blockbuster movies are released, since producers know that there will be a higher percentage of moviegoers during this time. If you have a home theater in your house, you can create the same environment of a larger theater by providing excellent air conditioning, not to mention the buttered popcorn. If your Greensboro air conditioning system is not working as efficiently as it used to, contact Carolina Fuels to do a diagnostic evaluation to see if a cooling repair or replacement is necessary. Our knowledgeable and trained technician will inspect your HVAC system. If a replacement is needed, we offer high efficiency air conditioners that will provide refreshing comfort with cost savings on your utility bills. Beside helping the film industry, did you know that air conditioning helped the U.S. government?

“Even the government would shut down during parts of the summer. Before central air conditioning, the government took a summer vacation along with school. In fact, some historians blame the growth of federal bureaucracy on air-conditioning, since it allowed lawmakers to stay in session longer.”

Our Government Depends on Central AC

Politicians and government employees are working harder for our country, now that air conditioning is the mainstream for cooling large, commercial buildings and homes. No more long vacations for the federal government, they work throughout the summer with their central AC system working at full capacity. If your commercial building is not cooling properly, or you are ready for an upgrade, call Carolina Fuels for a service visit to restore your system to peak performance level. Or, we can measure your square footage, examine your ductwork, inspect your vents, and provide you with information on Greensboro air conditioning systems that are within your budget and efficiency needs. Our installation team offers convenient scheduling, so your business will experience minimal downtime to have a new air conditioner installed.

Looking for a cool idea this summer? Cool off with top brand air conditioning systems, maintenance, and repairs at Carolina Fuels. How to Handle the Most Common AC Issues

When the weather gets warm and you start to use your air conditioner regularly, you may find that it is not in the same condition it was in at the end of the cooling season last year. It is common for your AC to be a little out of tune at the start of the season if no maintenance has been performed on it. Here are some common problems with AC in Burlington, NC, and how to handle them.

How to handle the most common ac problems graphic

  1. AC won’t turn on. There could be different causes for this problem. First, make sure your thermostat is on, set to cool, and set to a desired temperature that is lower than the current room temperature. Be sure your air conditioner has power. If not, look for a tripped circuit breaker. Check the filters for excess dust buildup. If all seems right but your system still won’t come on, call your HVAC company.
  2. System makes unusual noises. If you hear strange noises that you’ve never heard from your system, or louder than usual sounds, it may be due to loose, bent, or worn-out parts. Turn your system off and call a heating and cooling technician.
  3. Leaking water. If there is water leaking from your air conditioner, you may have a condensate drain blockage. Condensation forms when warm air is cooled and should be drained out through a tube. A blockage or disconnected tube can result in water leakage. If you feel comfortable checking and fixing this on your own, do so. If not, call an AC repair technician for help.
  4. Home doesn’t feel cool enough. One of the most common problems with AC in Burlington, NC, is insufficient cooling. Your system may run continuously or stop without ever reaching the desired indoor temperature. The fix for this may be as simple as replacing dirty filters to improve airflow. But if that doesn’t do it, the problem may be more serious such as low refrigerant due to a leak. That is definitely a problem for an HVAC company to handle.
  5. Energy bills are higher than last year or even last month. If it seems like your energy bills are unusually high, it may be due to your air conditioner. Compare your bills from each month during the cooling season and with the previous year. Barring a significant heatwave; if your electric bill is getting higher, it may indicate a problem with your system. Have a technician come out and give you an AC tune up in Burlington before you do anything else. A tune-up from an experienced technician can save you the headache of a costly air conditioning replacement.

Alamance Oil can fix your problems with AC in Burlington, NC

If any of these or other problems occur with your air conditioning when you turn it on this year, Alamance Oil is here to help. Burlington Air Conditioner Replacement: Is Now the Best Time?

Is it time to replace your air conditioner? Maybe your AC is getting old and starting to need frequent repairs. Maybe your home isn’t cooling as well as it used to. Perhaps your energy bills have been going up during the cooling season. If any of these things describe your situation, it may be time to consider Burlington air conditioner replacement. It is a good idea to have your system replaced before the weather gets so brutally hot that you are running your AC daily. In the offseason, HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) companies are not as busy as they will be during the heat of the summer. If you are not sure if you are ready to replace your AC, consider the following benefits.

  • Efficiency. A new air conditioner will be much more energy-efficient than one that is 8 years old or older. If your AC is 15 years old or older, it is most likely reaching the end of its life. New air conditioners cool better and use less energy to do so, meaning your bill will be lower after replacement.
  • Technological advances. New technology in air conditioning design goes way beyond efficiency. There are more options such as programmable thermostats, zone cooling, different blower speeds, and more. A new system gives you more options for cooling your home.
  • Avoid costly repairs. As your system ages, you may find that you have more AC problems in Burlington. Regular maintenance can help keep it running smoothly, but some problems can lead to expensive repairs. If you are faced with the decision to have a costly part replaced or to buy a new system, it is most likely in your best interest to replace the entire system. This is especially true of systems that are 10 years old or older.
  • Tax credits and rebates. When you upgrade to an energy-efficient air conditioner, you may be eligible for certain tax credits. Even your local utility companies may offer rebates because you are helping to save energy with your new system.
  • Environmental benefits. Of course, when you upgrade to an energy-efficient AC unit, it makes a positive impact on the environment. By cooling your home more efficiently, less energy needs to be created. This is especially important in areas where electricity is created by burning coal and other less environmentally friendly means.
